COMMERCIAL BRIEF BUILDER

Make the first conversation count.

Use this free template to produce a structured buyer requirement or supplier capability profile for copper, aluminium, gold bullion, steel or recycled metals. Complete what you know; flag the rest for confirmation.

  • Clarifies product and grade
  • Separates trial from recurring volume
  • Sets out logistics and payment preferences
  • Creates a reusable written summary

This tool works entirely in your browser. Copy or download your brief; it is not automatically sent to Montague.

Buyer purchasing requirement

PRIVATE · IN-BROWSER

Choose your product to see which technical details are most useful.

The generated brief is an initial information summary—not an LOI, proof of funds, purchase contract or verified offer.
PRODUCT GUIDANCE

Different metals.
Different evidence.

Use these brief checklists before requesting or submitting a formal offer. They are prompts for discussion, not independent verification.

GOLD BULLION

Define the bullion and its provenance.

Fineness (995 / 999.9), bar weight and format, refinery, origin, chain of custody, assay venue, settlement procedure and title transfer all shape the transaction.

Gold market considerations
STEEL PRODUCTS

Define grade, size and documentation.

Identify product form, grade, standard (such as EN / ASTM where applicable), size and tolerance, mill test certificate, tonnage, production lead time and named delivery point.

Steel market considerations
TRANSACTION FUNDAMENTALS

Terms worth defining early.

Understanding these distinctions helps avoid conversations that cannot progress into a workable transaction.

Incoterms

Agreed delivery rules define cost, risk and responsibility. Always specify the named location and edition, e.g. “Incoterms® 2020”.

Quality & inspection

Sampling, assay, certificates and independent inspection should be agreed for the specific product and delivery point.

Letters of intent

An LOI can set out a buyer's interest and proposed terms, but is not automatically proof of funding or a binding purchase order.

Documentary credits

LC, confirmed LC, SBLC and other structures are not interchangeable; issuing bank, conditions and beneficiary matter.

Origin & provenance

Supplier authority, origin documents, ownership history and sanctions considerations must be assessed on the facts.

Mandates & commissions

Who represents whom, what is payable and when should be documented in the relevant commercial agreements.
